You Are Tempted And……

You Are Tempted And…..

Everyone faces some kind of temptation whether they share it with another or not. The question is not whether you are tempted or what tempts you.

There are many different kinds of temptation. Everyone is not tempted by the same thing. Because everyone has different desires, passions, interest,  and goals.

For example, some are tempted to quit furthering their education via community college, college university because of many reasons. Other s may be tempted to leave and walk away from their marriage, family, business, ministry. Some are tempted by the opposite sex  and others are not, some temptations are sexual temptations, some has deal drug and some are alcohol related. Some temptations has to do with you have to control everything and everyone in your world.

The question is not whether you are tempted or what tempts you. The question is how do you face your temptation? Do you succumb to the thing or person that you are being tempted by. Do you try to ignore it, hoping it will just go away? Do you pray about it? Did you pray and ask God for his wisdom and grace? Do you receive  wisdom solutions that come from the Word of God?  Do you justify yourself in giving into the temptation because of some external reason? Do you find a reason because of what somebody did to you or did not do, and that  made you feel unwanted, unappreciated, unloved, etc.

When I looked in the Bible I see many people some who yielded to temptation and their story did not end well. Then I see others who faced temptations and decided with God’s grace to overcome temptations and their life story ended well.

For example I am reminded of Joseph in Genesis 39. When he could of felt truly justified to yield temptation because of the terrible circumstances that he encountered up until that point –

Keep in mind what happens and what sin does when people yield temptation.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14-15 KJV.

However, I see you as one that endured and is  an overcomer.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I John 5:4

I believe today is a new day! Where you are going to rewrite your story. I see you on the rise. I see you not being entangle again with the yoke of bondage.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

I want to give three helpful suggestions

Isolation – Don’t  withdraw and isolate yourself when you are faced with challenges especially when others can help you overcome and get the victory.

Ignore- Choose not to ignore the warning signs. Stop means stop.

I – “I Need Thee Every Hour”- Song” It is an Hymn that I encourage you to let that be apart of your prayer. God’s grace and mercy is available for you. Hebrews 4:16

I want to share with you that you have a role model in Christ. He feels what you feel. He knows what you are going through. Hebrews 4:14-15

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Christ has given us all a wonderful example in how he applied the Word of God in His situation to overcome and not yield to the temptation. Matthew 4:1-11

I am praying for you. If this has encouraged you I would like to hear your story.
