Hopelessness- is the emotion that causes one to feel there is no way out of your situation. Hopelessness says to the person it is not going to get any better. Hopelessness gives you the suggestion to just stop trying and call it quits on everything and everyone.
Hopelessness is a major source of sorrow. When you become hopeless on any issue, sorrow is the reward you get, it is the prize for hopelessness. When you come to the end of the road on any issue (according to your own assessment) sorrow takes over.
There are people in the Bible who experience the emotion of hopelessness but became overcomers of this emotion and got the victory. Make the choice to become one of the overcomers.
Know that you are not alone. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. I Corinthians 10:13
Naomi’s husband died. Her two daughter in laws husbands died as well. But God turned a hopeless situation around and gave her a testimony. Ruth 1:1-21; 4:16

Abraham was given a promise by God to have a child and he almost became hopeless because it took so long for the promise to manifest. He who against hope had to believe in hope and received his promise. Abraham – Romans 4:17-21
We aren’t talking about the hope where you wish things would get better. We are talking about Bible hope based on the Word of God. It is earnest expectation based on God’s Word.
Now faith is the substance of things hope for. Hope is the earnest expectation; anticipation of something good.
Hope is my target or goal setter of my faith. My faith can only produce what I expect. My faith need a target or a goal.
Faith is the substance of things of hope for. The substance of things. What things?
The things you hope for. What do we hope for? We hope for the things that God has promised us in the Bible. For example peace, wisdom, guidance, health, etc.
Hope is the partner of faith.

You are only downcast when you become hopeless. Hope sparks off joy, it releases new life inside of you that keeps you singing even when people think it is crazy to sing.
Jesus could see tomorrow so nothing in his present could cast him down.
He saw beyond the cross to the crown, beyond the grave to the throne.
You cannot see a bright tomorrow and not be excited today.
It is only people who cannot see anything in their future that are downcast.
Our days of being downcast are over and God is opening your eyes to see. You have a glorious tomorrow, which the enemy of your soul is upset about; he wants to puncture your hope, so you can join him in his upset state. Refuse to be upset! As long as God is for you, you have a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
